The North Oregon coast sustained heavy damage from the storm and before the winds had calmed and property owners could assess the damage, contractors from out of town were knocking on doors to solicit business. Anything from tree removal to roof repair is being offered to home owners, sometimes at prices seeming to good to be true. Maybe it’s because they want to help the community that has been so impacted by this storm, but there could be other reasons. Are they licensed? Are they bonded & insured? Sure you could ask them, but I suggest you investigate the license of contractor before you hire them. Why? Hiring a licensed & bonded contractor protects the home owner in the event the job isn’t satisfactory, or if there are problems later.
